The PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is suitable for anyone managing projects. This could be as part of a formal project management function or a role which involves project management as part of day-to-day work. The Practitioner certification aims to confirm that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding to apply and tailor the method in a range of different project environments and scenarios.

The purpose of the Practitioner exam is to confirm you have achieved sufficient understanding on how to analyse and apply the PRINCE2 guidance to projects in a tailored manner.

    • PRINCE2 Foundation (or higher) - certificates obtained after 1 January 2009
    • Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
    • Project Professional Qualification (PPQ)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
    • IPMA Level A® (Certified Projects Director)
    • IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager)
    • IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager)
  • IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate)
    • Multiple choice (objective) testing
    • 68 questions
    • 38 marks required (out of 68 available) to pass - 55%
    • Two-and-a-half hours’ duration
    • Open book exam

The purpose of the Practitioner Re-registration exam is to re-confirm your PRINCE2 practitioner abilities after, at least, three years’ experience in project management activities. You would have passed the Practitioner exam at least three years prior before you can take this recertification exam.

Exam Format:
  • Exam Requirement: PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam Pass
  • Multiple choice (objective) testing
  • 3 question areas with 10 question items per question area - all question items will be worth 1 mark, making the total number of marks available per paper 30
  • 17 marks required (out of 30 available) to pass - 55%
  • One hour duration
  • Open book exam
