MoR Management of Risk Course and Exam

The M_o_R® Foundation and Practitioner risk management course is designed to maximise delegates’ potential in the M_o_R® training environment and to introduce delegates to the M_o_R® framework and how this can be implemented in the work place. At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the terminology that is used within M_o_R
  • Understand the principles for the development of good risk management practices
  • Design an approach to risk management to improve performance
  • Identify and assess risks, then plan and implement risk responses
  • Establish current practices using M_o_R health check and maturity model
  • Identify opportunities and ways to improve Risk management
  • Understand the importance of Risk Specialisms

M_o_R Foundation is suitable for any organization or individual seeing the need for guidance on a controlled approach to identification, assessment and control risk at strategic, programme, project and operational perspectives. The Foundation certification is aimed at:

  • Business Change Managers
  • Programme and Project Managers
  • Risk Managers
  • Business and Programme and Project Support staff and managers
  • Operational staff and managers
  • Staff and managers from other disciplines, particularly those responsible for establishing standards and/or integrating them with MoP® portfolio management, MSP® programme management and PRINCE2® project management.
  • Exam Format:

    • Multiple choice examination questions
    • 75 questions per paper
    • Five questions are ‘trial questions’ and not counted in scores
    • 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) - 50%
    • 60 minutes’ duration
    • Closed book

The purpose of the Practitioner certification is to confirm whether you have sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor M_o_R in a scenario situation. You should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying an M_o_R approach to any organizational perspective but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations. Your individual risk management expertise, complexity of the organizational context and the support provided for the use of M_o_R in your work environment will all be factors that impact what you can achieve.

The purpose of the Practitioner exam is to confirm you have achieved sufficient understanding on how to analyse and apply the MoR guidance in risk management in a tailored manner.

  • Exam Format:

    • Exam Requirement - you must have passed the MoR Foundation exam
    • Multiple choice (objective) testing
    • 4 question areas with 20 questions in each area – total 80 questions
    • 40 marks required (out of 80 available) to pass - 50%
    • Three hours’ duration
    • Open book exam

The purpose of the Practitioner Re-registration exam is to re-confirm your MoR Practitioner abilities after, at least, three years’ experience in risk management activities. You would have passed the Practitioner exam at least three years prior before you can take this recertification exam.

  • Exam Format:

    • Exam Requirement: MoR Practitioner Exam Pass
    • Multiple choice (objective) testing
    • 2 question areas with 20 question items per question area - all question items will be worth 1 mark, making the total number of marks available per paper 40
    • 20 marks required (out of 40 available) to pass - 50%
    • One hour duration
    • Open book exam.
