The PgMP certification process involves two key evaluations: a panel review and a multiple-choice examination.

Exam Format:

Evaluation 1—Panel Review:

  • An extensive application review by a panel of certified PgMP holders.
  • Assessment based on professional experience and responses to Program Management Experience Summaries.
  • If unsuccessful on the first attempt, candidates can update and resubmit their application for a second review.

Evaluation 2—Multiple-Choice Examination:

  • A comprehensive exam with situational and scenario-based questions.
  • Consists of 170 questions (150 scored and 20 pretest questions).
  • Duration: 4 hours, with no scheduled breaks (though breaks can be taken at the expense of exam time).
  • Languages: The exam is available in English and Chinese.

  • By obtaining the PgMP certification, you demonstrate your advanced program management capabilities and commitment to leading successful programs that align with strategic business objectives.

To be eligible for the PgMP exam, candidates must meet one of the following sets of requirements:

    Four-year College/University Degree

  • 48 months of project management experience or PMP® certification.
  • 48 months of program management experience within the last 15 years.

    High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree:

  • 48 months of project management experience or PMP® certification.
  • 84 months of program management experience within the last 15 years.
