The Agile Business Analysis (AgileBA®) v3 course develops the practical business analysis competencies required to identify opportunities, make evidence-based decisions and deliver meaningful value in modern Agile and AI-enabled organisations.

AgileBA helps professionals connect organisational strategy, customer needs and delivery activities. It shifts the focus from simply producing outputs to ensuring that products, services and change initiatives achieve the right outcomes for the right people.

Version 3 combines business analysis, business agility, product thinking, value delivery, strategic alignment, human-centred decision-making and AI-enabled ways of working.

The AgileBA certification scheme comprises two levels:

  • AgileBA Foundation
  • AgileBA Practitioner

The purpose of the Foundation level is to confirm that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the AgileBA guidance to:

  • Contribute effectively to AgileBA activities led by others
  • Understand and explain the AgileBA approach to others
  • Recognise how Agile business analysis supports value-driven delivery
  • Understand the principles, roles, practices and techniques within AgileBA v3
  • Qualify to undertake the AgileBA Practitioner examination

    Exam Format:

    • Duration: 40 minutes
    • Closed book
    • 50 multiple-choice questions
    • Pass mark: 25/50 (50%)
    • No marks are deducted for incorrect answers
    • Candidates must pass the Foundation examination before undertaking the Practitioner examination
    • Exam language: English

The Practitioner course is suitable for:

  • Business Analysts, Managers, Project Managers, Change Managers and Portfolio, Programme and Project Office professionals
  • Sponsors and other professionals responsible for shaping, prioritising or evaluating organisational change
  • Professionals applying project, programme and portfolio management guidance who want to strengthen value delivery and benefits realisation
  • Certified AgileBA Foundation professionals seeking to apply the guidance in practical situations
  • Agile team members who want to develop their capabilities as Agile Business Analysts
  • Product Owners, Product Managers and transformation professionals responsible for connecting strategy, customer needs and delivery outcomes

The purpose of the Practitioner level is to confirm that candidates can apply and tailor AgileBA v3 concepts, practices and techniques in realistic situations.

Exam Format:

  • Prerequisite: AgileBA Foundation examination pass
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Complex multiple-choice objective testing
  • Four question areas, each worth 15 marks
  • 60 marks available
  • Pass mark: 30/60 (50%)
  • Open book
  • Only the official AgileBA v3 Reference Book is permitted
  • Exam language: English
