APMP® for PRINCE2 Practitioners

What You'll Learn

Project Management methodologies, of which PRINCE2(R) is the paradigm, offer the Project Manager tried and tested structure and guidance in support of why, what, when, where and who…with one notable exception; PRINCE2 offers very limited guidance on ‘How’, in that there are no detailed project management tools and techniques covered as part of the method. This is the remit of the APMP for PRINCE2 Practitioners course and examination.

This intensive 3-day course provides delegates with comprehensive training to prepare them for the APMP examination (based on the APM Body of Knowledge, 5th Edition). It accredits the prior learning that a PRINCE2 Practitioner has attained by taking out of the examinable syllabus all of the topics that have already been assessed within the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam.

The course will enable delegates to:

  • understand all elements of the APMP syllabus
  • get to grips with the specific examination language
  • learn strategies and tactics for approaching the examination. Examination practice and feedback is included in the workshop.
Audience Profile

This course is for people with up to two years’ project management experience and is suitable for project managers and aspiring project managers. Ideally will have some experience of working in a project environment and have a basic of project management issues.

Prerequisites

Candidates must be current (within the last 5 years) PRINCE2 Practitioners. It is also essential that you provide proof of your PRINCE2 Practitioner status such as your certificate, or candidate number which will be checked prior to you being allowed to sit the shortened examination.

This is an intensive course and delegates will be expected to undertake at least 15 hours pre-course work in order to be fully prepared for the workshop.

Delegates must bring photographic identification with them on exam days (passport, driving license or student card) as it is an examination requirement to produce it for the invigilator prior to the exam. Failure to produce a valid form of photographic identification may result in a candidate not being able to sit the exams.

The course is intensive and therefore delegates are also advised to undertake some revision work in the evening to prepare for the APMP examination that can be taken at the end of the course. The additional work required during evenings will consist of consolidation reading and mock examination questions. The evening work is an integral part of the course and delegates should expect to spend 2-3 hours each evening on these activities.
